Until I get my custom fenders fabricated I decided to paint my bumper and grill black with OEM colored corners:

if that flag offends them they need a history lesson. they dont like it here by me either (new york) but it dont stop anyone from displaying it and there are acually a few general lee clones buzzing around here too iv been looking into them so far the wolo horn seems to be the best if you find one that is better please let me know

I 100% agree, if you are doing dixie GO FULL OUT. and who cares if other people don't like it and you might get shot. Its about what you want and appreciate. I think if you do the dixie all the way out, you will get more nods then middle fingers. But that's just me.

I've heard some pretty out of tune Dixie horns on Youtube that's for sure.

If I was to go full out I would need to drop my black hood and pin striping, along with the cowl induction since neither were on the General Lee.

I would have to do a grill along these lines until I was able to custom fit an all black phantom grill. This guys push-bar would look good in black with a chrome bumper behind it, more like the General Lee.

Also get one of the "sport" Dakota tailgates that are flat with "Dakota" painted on rather than raised up in the metal, paint it black, shave the tail lights and paint that spot of the back of the quarters where the lights were black as well so the entire back is black. Get some original taillight lenses from a Dodge Charger and makeshift them into my tailgate...roll pan would be 100% necessary as well.

They sell a tailgate skin that is welded over your current tailgate and it makes the whole tailgate completely flat with no handle, brake light, or anything. You just have to relocate your handle inside the bed with a kit they sell. My tailgate is dented with a crease and i will have to replace the whole tailgate. In my search for a new tailgate i found the skins but is not what i need for my build. http://www.dnhautoparts.com/dodge-da...-tailgate.html there is a link for a new tailgate that i found after alot of searching. Seems the tailgate is not a common part to replace in someone's opinion. Hope this helps.

I don't think I want a flat tailgate though I have seen those before along with the handle relocation kits. If I take up the Dixie look I would want the non-raised letter tail gate so I have a rectangle box; step down body line to work with. It would look similar to the Charger rear end if I used original taillights and painted it black, here is a quick and sloppy Photoshop to give you a better idea:

I think I found my wheels at least for now, I ran across this old AMC Eagle SX/4 on the side of the road the neighbors said the guy would probably sell it for a few hundred bucks there is no engine. I will pull the wheels and scrap the rest, maybe even make a profit off it, neighbors said he probably would not sell just the wheels:

That tailgate would look pretty good like that and with using the 93-96 tailgate you already have wiring for 2 bulbs in the 3rd brake light. Would just have to add a couple wires cause the 3rd brake light doesn't come on with the lights just when brake switch is made. It would definitely be different cause i haven't seen one like that.
