Spits and stutters like out of timing or running out of fuel.Over the past 3 weeks keeps getting worse.Working at night on this issue noticed the exhaust getting cherry red.By unplugging the vacuum to the fuel regulator on the fuel rail,it stopped.SO,I got another fuel rail and still does the same thing.Unhooked exhaust to make sure nothing was plugged and it was all good.I have also changed all 3 sensors on the throttle bottle body..Im really lost now.....Could this be something internal?

I replaced the fuel rail as this piece I described before I took the vacuum off of was actually part of the rail.it is located on the back of the rail on the drivers side.I did a pressure test but came back good.Crazy,I remember you telling me the regulator was on the rail.If that was the regulator,It wasn't coming off.Still can't figure out why my exhaust gets so hot..

When you tested the pressure did you do it with and without the vacuum line hooked up?
1993 Dodge Dakota Manual 31psi, 39 with no vacuum.
When you say you unplugged the vacuum line, did you plug up the vacuum hose?
The regulator is removable off of the fuel rail. Here are some pics that will help.

Thanx Crazy.VERY helpful yet my mechanic already changes the while rail.I'll inform him of this.Yes on the pressure test.Either way didn't make a difference came back good. For some reason there is way too much gas being pumped into the TB and turning my exhaust cherry red...Still sits and idles like a champ but stumbles when ya try to driver it.

Was the replacement rail used? If so you have a used regulator since it wasn't replaced. Who knows if that is any good.
If I remember right a LEAN condition is what produces extreme heat. You might be burning up your pistons and valves.
I can't remember if you ever said you replaced the O2 sensor.

If the pressure is fine at idle, do a volume check, also I had one that had good pressure while idling, so taped the fuel pressure gauge to windshield and drove it and when driving down the road the pressure came down to 15 psi or so, you said when you unplug the regulator it ran good? Unplugging the regulator gives more fuel pressure, so by that statement your pump is bad
