Default Sort of same problem. VSS, O/D, and code

Maybe I should have continued on my old thread, but...anyway. Bought a new VSS. Got underneath and found the old one loose, the wire coming from it unplugged to the wires leading up to the engine, and those wires having bare spots. Fixed it all up. O/D now works. Before it got to around 3000 rpm at 65. Now about 2100 RPM at 70. When turn it off I feel the rpms shoot up. But, the engine code still says 15. How do I reset it? I unhooked the positive for 15-30 seconds. I went on the highway. Wouldn't it reset on it's own? Could the O/D now be working and the VSS still be bad?
O/D not working was the only issue with this.
Thanks.

Yes disconnecting the battery will reset it. Most people will say to unhook the negative not the positive. Also try with the battery unhooked turn on the key all around to try to drain out what power may be lingering around the system.
