Default 1995 Dakota 2.5 EGR HELP!

The EGR valve is broken in my 1995 Dodge Dakota with a 2.5l 4 cylinder.

I managed to find a EGR Valve in a 1988 Dodge Aires with the same motor.

The replacement bolts up, however the hole with the plunger in it, is slightly smaller.

Will this hurt anything, or should I be ok?

Here is the one from the Aires. Standard EGV138

..and here is the one that goes on the dakota. Standard EGV495

I don't think it will hurt, but wanted to check.

I'd say get the correct EGR valve.. the EGR valve routes some of the exhaust gas into the intake manifold. It might not have enough "push" because the small hole, and in return, you will have poor engine performance and maybe something more severe. (built up exhaust somewhere)

Just a thought.

Yeah, it's a simple, small part but a lot of people seem to have enough problems with them when they have the correct one on, so I'd stick to the one for your truck.
