Fuel check valve install

David Mann - it's not so much in front of or behind the fuel filter, it's as close to the pump as possible. In front of the fuel line is just close. What you CAN do is trim that line from the pump (the hard line), flare it enough to help it seal, then use a 92/93 filter instead. Or swap to the 92/93 filter, and that'll call for about 14" or so of inlet hose so you can loop back and back to the front.

It's the RETURN line, after the regulator, so as long as the FEED line is pressurized, you're good.

Who cars if fuel flows that way? Matter of fact, you don't want any restriction on that line - a common upgrade to the high-HP Thunderbirds is to make both inlet and return lines 3/8" or 1/2" to keep enough fuel flowing both ways.
