A500 hydraulic lockup vs a500 electronic lockup

So to get this correct is the A500/46rh is found in v8 rams, ram vans, and dakotas and there is nothing special to change when doing the swap into my v6 94 dakota. Same torque converter starter and such? Do I have to change the speed sensor at the bad of od unit?
I just dont want to buy the wrong damn trans AGAIN.
THANKS in advance for your help.

Speed sensor swaps over. Use your engine specific torque converter.
Little info is known of the early years. They might not be any difference, there may be. I rule out the early years due to I don't know.

Don't kid yourself. Seen plenty of them equipped that way.
What you say is "most" true in full sized pickups; there are plenty of Durangos Dakotas Grand Cherokees and even full sized vans I have seen with 318s in them, that do have the 500-based trans instead of the 518...
but what you say, 'should" be true if only on a common sense type basis.
I now have 2 518s here, one dead, one "supposed to" be good, the "supposed to be good" one is going into my 94 3.9 truck.
