Injector swap/questions
So when i first got my 93 Dakota for graduation, it hadn't been running since 03 (i graduated in 09). me and my dad took the motor out, pulled it apart, and decided that it would be cheaper to buy a running engine out of a lot than to rebuild that engine. My uncle hadnt changed the oil in it hardly at all so it was completely gunked out. My dad found a replacement engine that was sitting in a lot and got it for i think $600 shipped (cant remember). At the time we didnt know what the engine was out of (though with the different exhaust port sizes and different fuel rail i deduce that it was out of a 96').
It came with the entire fuel rail assembly still attached. My dad wasnt sure that the Injectors on the motor would be compatible with my older electrical system, so we re-used the old injectors from the old engine.
The injectors that are currently installed on my truck have White tops. The injectors that came on the engine are blue, with the number 230 150 927.
I did some searching a while back and found that these blue injectors are higher performing than the white ones. at the time however i only had 1 of the injectors as i could not find the rest of them.
i have all of them now (just have to find the one i had before, should be around somewhere) and was wondering if anyone else has swapped injectors and how to go about doing so without losing the gas that's sitting in the rails.
id also like to know the best way to clean these injectors before i install them.
attached is a picture of 5 of the injectors
Thanks

What brand are the injectors?
Here is a great chart of injectors by part numbers.

As for how to bleed the fuel pressure, the easiest way if the motor runs is to unplug the fuel pump relay and try to start the motor, it may start and run for a bit let it die out then the pressure is bleed.

You don't want to mix and match injectors. When I installed a '98 5.9 in my '94 5.2 Dakota, I was under the assumption that the larger engine would have larger injectors, wrong. '98 5.2/5.9 injectors actually flow less than the '94 5.2/5.9 injectors and my truck ran like crap. So I put the '94 injectors back in and it ran great. If I were you I'd stick with '93 injectors.

ive already done the research. according to the chart that crazy linked these blue injectors are 21.8LB Injectors and my old white ones are 18LB injectors. and i wouldnt be mixing them, as i have all 6 of them here on my desk (found the 6th one a few minutes after i posted the OP)

When I say "mix and match" I'm referring to the year of the truck the injectors are going into and the year of the truck the injectors came out of. If you run 21.8 PPH injectors where 18 PPH injectors are needed without modifying the calibration in the PCM or adjusting fuel pressure you may have a running condition like I did. My problem came from running smaller injectors where larger ones were required.
