Default Knock and Squeak

Motor knocks, squeak happens when you open throttle / rev the engine but goes away a second later.

This video is complete crap but you can hear the knocking and squeak when I rev it.

The knock is either a bad lifter, spring or rod or something else, but the squeak, could it be a motor mount? Or can something else like the alternator squeak?

The knock is definitely from the internal engine but to hard to tell just by the video. Your best bet is to completely rebuild the engine or get a known good one to swap in. Or its a good time for a V8 swap.

The sequel can be anything on the pulley/belt system. You can try spraying WD on each pulley till it stops.

I can't really find any local v8's but I found a 3.9 like mine, it only has 93k miles. Price is $550, I can probably get it for $475-$500.

Crazy, rather than doing a complete rebuild on my 225k 3.9, would it be better to get the 93k?

They bought it from Salvage Auto Supply in Charlotte, NC.

I order the engine to put in my truck, but they sent the wrong one. I needed a V8 and they sent a V6. I have the paper work from the company I bought it from. I tried to exchange it and they would come and pick it up, so I am now saling it. It has 93K miles.
edit I found a v8 in Buckingham 2 hour drive:
i have a great running injected 318 with a mild cam for $375 text call ****** came out of a 95

I texted him and he says it has around 50k miles

You won't regret the power of the V8.

The guy with the v8, it has 150k original miles and 50k on the rebuild. He's getting rid of it because the rears went out on his 95 Dakota.

He has the flywheel. What is the difference between a flywheel and flexplate, are they the same thing, and if not, will I only need the flywheel?

Should I buy his PCM or will mine work with the v8?

He said the wiring harness to the injectors is cut, so half the harness goes with the engine, is this all I need or should I just wire it from my old harness?

(1995/1996 model year)
Automatic Transmission: 42RE and 46RE 9.0L-10.4L "dry fill" (dropping the pan and replacing the filter takes about 4-5 quarts)

Engines
3.9L MPFI 175HP 220TQ 1994-1996 (2)
5.2L MPFI 220HP 280TQ 1994-1995 (2)

Transmissions
Automatic
42RH Four speed "V6 only" (1st 2.74, 2nd 1.54, 3rd 1.0, 4th 0.69, Rev. 2.21)
46RH Four speed "V8 only" (1st 2.45, 2nd 1.45, 3rd 1.0, 4th 0.69, Rev. 2.21)
I want to buy a 46RH right?

Both terms are used incorrectly most of the time. A flexplate is for an automatic transmission. A Flywheel is for a manual transmission. They are the same type of part that connects the engine to the transmission but totally different.

Since it sounds like the donor truck has an automatic transmission it has a
flexplate not a flywheel, again like I said it is mostly incorrectly used term.

You will need the V8 PCM to run the V8, the V6 PCM will only run 6 of the 8 clys if you use it. You will need 2 extra injector wires to connect to your stock harness. Along with the pins for the PCM connector for those 2 extra injectors.

You both have 95's right so yes you will need a 46rh for the V8.
