Exclamation if your having slipping issues check here --->

okay, just my .02 here. but after long long thoughts i finally decided to take my truck into my local transmission shop to get the fluid and filter changed and told them about the slipping from 1st to 2nd gear (automatic) even when the fluid is full. well once they drained everything the fluid was pretty rough looking and the filter was filthy lol, anyways.. they checked the bands and they were really out of wack which was why it was doing that, after they torqued them and put the filter and pan back on they put some of the high quality detergent then added 6 quarts of fluid and ive been driving it a few hours and it shifts real nice and doesnt slip anymore either.. just my 2 cents in case your having the same problem.

My concern is double
first what is this "high quality detergent"
second
did they fill with ATF+ 4?
With ATF+4 you should not need any additives
Without ATF+4 additives may cost you your converter> plug up your trans cooler>destroy your thrust washers> destroy your trans
dexron (Amsoil etc) plus additives does not equal ATF+4

im panicing while im driving it lately, it feels alot different then it has before, i know the fluid they put in and stuff looked a lil thicker and it shifts better.. but like every sound i hear i think its going out because i read all over forums hearing doing a fluid filter band adjustment on that many miles can help or make it worse.. all the transmission shops too say just give it a little bit and youll forget about it. the slip from 1st to 2nd occurs sometimes still but i dont think theres much i can do about it now..

Answer the question
what did they put in your trans
ATF+4 or snake oil?
Do you have a 518=46 RH or electronic?
If electronic consider a flash
do not worry about folk wisdom on the forums
Fresh fluid in a Dodge trans never hurt one that one not gone already
First second is a combination of overrunning clutch (sprag) and clutches apply
(low/ reverse band release > clutch if manual low
Put in a transgo reprogramming kit
flare up can be as simple as a linkage adjustment- adjust it out just a little and see
does your trans seem to shift "early" or "late"?
I think there is a diagnosis sticky- find and read

I'm just dying to know why you need three current threads on the same thing.

Do tell.
