Default Tailight houseing screws

My screws keep loosening on rough roads and fall out .I keep tightening them and forget to tighten them. Can't overtighten the screws or you'll break the houseing.Just plastic. What can I use to hold the screws in place and be able to remove the lens if I ever have to,like for replaceing the bulbs? Annoying problem to be driving and see the houseing dangleing from the back.Duct tape would'nt look cool. 94 Dakota. Thanks

There are small metal clips that the screws thread in to. They are replaceable, or sometimes you can get away with using some pliers to try straighten it out to hold the screw better.

Would a threadlocking adhesive ,like Locktite work? Supposedly once you use it,you can remove it also,by hand tools.

If you use locktite, use the blue locktite, not the red.

I dont know why the screws keep coming out. Thats wierd. But you can put them in and also put a little clear nail polish on the heads and lense.

Thanks. They keep loosening only on rough gravel roads and rocky roads.Have done this for several years now,but I forget to tighten them when I get off the rough roads.Even went to different screws.Want to be able to remove the lens too,in case I have to replace a bulb.

A simple trick is to use a piece of paper clip into the metal clip. This way the threads of the screw have something to bite into.

I ended up using blue locktite. We'll see what happens.I don't go on rough roads that often anymore.
