well my question remains the same, I have a 1988 dakota, im not impressed by the tail lights, I want to know what other dodge tail lights would even remotely fit? Something from a newer truck or SUV? I'd do some drilling if I have to.

I thought about trying to make aftermarket ford f150 taillights fit my Dakota but then I remembered I already own a ford and don't want 2 of the same taillights on separate trucks

This is another members 87-96 that bought the only available aftermarket tail lights:

If I was to keep the euro Honda look and remove the reflector this would be a much cleaner look I Photoshopped the image above:

Now this is my legal revision with the reflector in the center of the reverse light, I also blacked out the right (its suppose to be a reflector black-out not a lens black-out):

Here is a running light / brake light rendering with LEDs I'm really really liking the one on the right!!

if need be id make a few cuts to make this chevy sierra fixture work, the Dakota isn't the only truck with a square rectangular back so I might have no choice but to mod.

Wow I have no idea why that pic is so big after i shrunk it above smh. Yeah I was thinking the older older ones would be a better fit, more straight edged, less curves.

After you get the shape situated do you remember how close the screw brackets were? If any already lined up? If the plastic in side was in the way or if it just sat in? I tried this before at the junk yard and the main issue were the brackets just being no where close to similar and sometimes protruding against the glass fixture.

this is a 1992 s10 fixture:
