Chrysler LSD Swap?
Maybe I will search out an 8.25 then, just keep it simple 8.25 & 3.9:1 then I can add LSD or a locker later on. This is completely street use so I'm not sure if a locker is really going to help unless it's a drag strip.
Is the powertrax no-slip suppose to be some sort of ratio closer to 40:60 or something? It can't be both limited slip AND no slip?
I need something that will lay a double strip, and as equal as possible when laying around a bend/corner. My 7.25 open rear end and crappy 3-speed is pathetic, it gets one wheel going good around corners from a standstill...by the time it hits second the rpms peak though hah

I'm very curious now, I did not realize any full locker was able to take turns on pavement. What Dakota and Durango packages would this be in? Is the axle built for/recommended for street use?
Spools suck on the street, but lockers are ok. I had a Detroit locker in a Chevy truck that I used to own. I drove that thing for years with no problems. It used to bang and clunk once in a while, but it was pretty much indestructible. Didn't really cause any tire wear problems or anything, either.
No lockers were available from factory. Only aftermarket. LSD (which are junk in my opinion) was a factory option.
Automatic lockers unlock for turns when your foot is off of the throttle, it locks back up when you get on the throttle.
Selectable lockers act like open diffs when not locked/engaged then is like spool no unlocking until deactivated.
A spool is always locked. Never can unlock.

I agree that the factory option lsd is a POS, but I disagree that they all are. I've had good luck with Auburns in several vehicles, and I like the Yukon Duragrip I'm running now.
