Sorry to hijack, but you think you can post some pics and info on your truck, and what you did to fit 40's/42's?

There is the ID tag which will list it, I think it is suppose to be above the oil pan on the driver side.

The best way to know if it is a 46 is what engine it came behind. On Dakotas all V8's came with the 46. V6 42. Same on Rams but a few V6's came with the 46.

Thanks for the clairification
you have a RH
the 3 pin connector is all the confirmation you need
now let's double check the pan
is there a bulge or is it rectangular
bulge is 46 square is 42...
ixnay the 47 for the moment
let's start with the basics
early 46's had a different (smaller) shaft and planatary splines than later
you need to determine which you have using the tag which will direct you to the correct parts.
47 guts would have to be a complete swap on the earlier trans
the difference is only around .030
late gears will fit sloppy on the early shaft and will shere- not good
early gears will not go on the late shaft
I have the early trans on my 92 5.2
I installed the straight cut planataries from a similar shafted diesel
(under warranty he he)
when my tranny went out at 30,000 miles after towing in 100 degree plus weather over the Tejon pass.
I also installed the diesel number of clutch plates.
straight cut planataries have NO THRUST so do not burn up the thrust plates like the helical cut ones do.
early planateries had a shallower helix than the 15 degrees of the later ones so generated even more thrust= heat
couple that with lack of lube and you can see whay there were so many early failures of the OD

number 6 are you talking 3/4 inch??? way to go
going from 3/8 to 1/2 cuts down backpressure by around 45 pounds measured at the output port of the trans to cooler line and gives much more flow- this is with a cooler with 1/2 " fittings.
There is a reason diesels use 1/2 inch lines and the OD tranny moved from 5/16 of the Torqueflyte to 3/8.
do install an adapter and filter
If your converter goes you will not trash your expensive cooler

do not worry about the electronic activation of the OD
you will not be using it mudding in any case
transgo makes a super OD big spring... watch their video

stock converter?
(I use a LOW STALL r-v style in mine 3.52 gears and 235-75 15 tires- stock cam 1.7 rockers, 3"dia (same as cat) 36" maremont motorhome turbo muffler with resonator)
OBD I
If you are interested post back and I'll go over upgrading your oiling
(I like may stereo)

Hey guys, sorry I've been busy with work.. But yea ok thanks alot for the info idk what i wanna do yet i was thinking about doing a 454 turbo400 swap/build I want something with no less than 600 horse so honestly I'm torn on what I want to do... Here's a few pictures I'm not going to do a build thread cause there's plenty out there like crazy4x4rt n a few others both 3link n leaf spring.... mine started out as a 4x4 frame, 318 n trans with a 2wd v6 cab, bed n body panels.. Crazy4x4rt.. My cab n bed was a direct bolt on those adjustments u needed to make for the bed to line up may have been from the roll over donor frame since i had no issues minus the Trans tunnel is not as tall as the 4x4 meaning the tcase shifter hit the side of the tunnel I needed to hit/bang the side in for the shifter to fit... The plastic shifter piece did not fit correctly witch it don't matter to me because i bed lined the floor n pulled the carpet. That was the main issue i had really had.... Hers just a fee pictures enjoy n don't bash to much haha Name: imagejpeg_2_50.jpg

Cool, looks like a great mud runner! What axles did you use? If you don't mind would you post up some frame shots of the mounts and crossmembers or anything else technical you can.

Thanks.. N yea I can but that's gonna have to be a didn't day onsome of the mounts.. Yea this truck is completely rust free its from Texas. I used Dana 60 rear n 44 front outta a 81 JEEP J20 and I am up grading to a 60 high pinion front for drive shaft issues.. Its binding up w a tcase clicking ring.. So i writhe need to do a high pinion or divorced tcase which is tempting so then i can run a np205. I completely boxed in the frame since it was all apart here's a few more pix.
