Default looking for wheels.

So I've been wanting to change my wheels since i bought the truck. My front tires are about due so I figure this would be a good time to look. I have a 93 with the factory wheels the kind of weird looking ones imo. I was thinking about looking for the factory ones that came on the 95 and 96 first gen the 5 spoke chrome ones (that look kind of like the ones on the ram of the same years). Just wanted to know is there any off set difference.

Or what wheels on the 2nd gen dakotas fit without there being an off set. There is someone parting out a 94 dak with the r/t wheels from the second gen about 50 miles from my area I was thinking of offering them 200 or so for them but they have low profile tires on them which I don't like to much... trucks need not to be any lower than stock but always fun to have to climb into them

Don't know the relavence of this icon on this site lol... But I loved the show when I was a kid.

As always thanks for the imput.

The R/T wheels will fit, sell the tires and buy some with the height that you like.

^ Yep. Just find a used Tire place and see if you couldn't Just trade tires. And you can use basically any chrysler wheel thats the 6-lug pattern up through Gen2. So most dakota, ram and durango wheels will work. Far as durangos go the 15x8 wheels will have a clearance issue with the brakeline bolt up front

Well I have seen other post on here or maybe it was the faq section that said some of the 2nd gen dak wheels have offset issues. I think it might have been with the 16" 6 spoke wheels or something. Just wanted to make sure.

Not sure where you live but I have a set of the chrome 15" wheels you are talking about. I just bought a set of wheels and took them of mine. $100 no shipping and needs tires cause the ones on them are worn out. Im in SC if your interested. And if you can get 17" r/t wheels for $200 jump on them quick.

Is your truck 2wd or 4x4? I've had both. Like keilkravac said above, the 15x8's have clearance issues on 4x4 models with the brake line bolt on the front caliper. The 16x8's fit just fine with no issues at all. On 2wd models, I haven't found any 2nd gen wheels that fit with out issues. The suspension differences are vast. The 15x8's and 16x8's both hit the upper control arm. I think the 17's may clear, but may still rub on turns.

My truck is lowered about 2 inches in front and 3 inches in the rear, and I have the 16 x 8 gen 2 wheels... never had an issue with rubbing at all. I lowered the truck before I bought the wheels so maybe the lowering made a difference.

The inside edge of the rim hits the outer edge of the upper control arms on turns.

The 15X7" alloys off a second gen (first on this page) rub the inner wheel weights against the control arms. I did a test fit in my driveway when swapping wheels around and noticed it, if you can get away with no weights or weights that stick to the inside of the wheel you may luck out.
