Default 4 cyl drive train, v6 engine?

I am planning on swapping out my 2.5 for the v6. If i do this will i have to get another trans and rear end? Or can my current 5 speed hold up with the rear end?

Not sure on the trans. It might bolt up different. You more than likley have the chrysler 7.25 rear end which you can use the v6 I do believe it came on some v6 trucks just isn't recomemned if you use the truck for hauling or towing all the time. So if this is a weekend warrior boat puller I'd upgrade it. If it's a dd and you don't plan on romping on it all the time you should be good. There is probably something in the faq section if you snoop around it. Or I'm sure crazy4x4rt or one of the other vets will fill you in a little more. I'm still a noob on these kind of and know nothing about the 4cyl daks other than what I can assume.

I never really haul anything more than some scrap to the junkyard so i think I'll be ok. I'm just still wondering about the trans? Csn't I change the bell housings to make it fit? And still, will my trans withstand the new power?

You got it.
The 4cly and V6 share transmission and the rear end will work.

That's great news, I'm getting a v6 magnum out of a 91. Cant wait to feel some actual power under the pedal. Will the engine and harness do for the swap? I'm getting mounts and what not as well.

I bought my dak with the 3.9l magnum and I don't think it's enough power. If I had a 360 I'd love life. Even though the 16-18 mpgs is nice for a truck that can do what you need it to.

Bought the engine today, It's actually coming out of a 93 sport. The kid at the junkyard is a moron haha. I took a final look myself today before dropping the money into it. Turns out it's a 93. Gonna put it on the stand and spruce it up before I drop it in. Any early on suggestions?
