Default Rear speaker wiring has no power.

1994 extended cab. So the speaker wiring has no power I found this out after breaking the cover clips and hooking up my speakers to them. It did not come stock with speakers back there but has the wiring for it. I looked behind my deck and I did not see any loose wires. I've thought about just rewiring the whole set up but I want to wait till the snow is gone so I can lay the stuff out. Any one done this before is it just a unconnected wire? Let me know.

I would back track the wires that are in those locations and see where they end up. Chances are they're just not connected. You could always add to them where they stop and continue them to the back of the radio. Not the best, but if you don't have any available speaker connections on the back of the radio, you could always tap into the ones you do have. It will drop the ohms from your radio and put more of a load on the built in radio's amplifier, but it will work. Is it a "factory" radio or aftermarket?

Tucked up under the dash on each side of the truck are connectors for the speakers(front and rear) they might be disconnected under the dash

Running new wire shouldn't be that much of a pain if you have to. Let us know what you find.

I got the side panel off but it turns out the wires appear to run under the seats back there I don't know how to get that back piece off. I'm currently tackling the storage boxes

Update: I've decided to run new wire instead of tracing the old.
