I have another thread about the engine harness on the 3.9 swap. Well i bought a 93 d250 motor. Ive found a complete harness out of a 93 dakota 318. Is the harness the same for these Trucks? I just took the carb off the v6 to take the engine out do i want to pull it by the heads or not?

 

You can pick the engine up by the carb place (with a mounting plate)you can pick one up at the parts store . Or you can pull the exhaust manifolds and use one of the exhaust bolts on either side to pick it up .. Or you can pull the intake off and use the intake mounting hole's in the head to pull it out .... I usually use the exhaust mounting holes . One on the rear (passenger) and one on the front (driver ) .. There also may be some holes in the back of the head you can use along with one of the accessory bracket mounting holes ....

As for the harness , they should be the same . I know my 99 dakota and the 96-01 Rams have the same harness . You can also run the 5.9 with a 5.2 computer and harness . And vise versa ...
