3.9 woes
i'm just about at my wits end with this motor. i've been trying for the past week to get her started but to no avail.
well i put new plugs in since the old ones have way more than 7k miles on them. while i had them out i found i wasn't getting spark. well, long story short, i both wires going to the coil are getting a positive signal.
after a ton of reading/testing all my relays checked out except some absconded with my meter so i cant check voltages but i'm leaning toward a bad pcm.
if it does turn out to be a bad pcm then i'll just sell off the motor and upgrade.
but any input would be helpful. i would love to hang on to this motor because of the low mileage.

Are you sure? Rock Auto lists a Crank Position Sensor and a Distributer Pickup for a 1991 V6. I think there is still a crank position sensor in there.

its inside the distributor. when they changed over to the magnums they went with a separate crank position sensor the oem transmission doesnt have the provision for a separate cps same as the 4cyl.
i believe the culprit is the burned up/horribly corroded(though i dont know how it got like this) smec(or sbec) module(aka pcm)
i wonder...how bout a 4cyl 4x4?

Nope, either Chrysler or later ones were AMC engines I believe. 2.2L/2.5L OHC was a Chrysler Engine. I think the only I4 Mitsubishi engine used by Chrysler was the 2.6L I4, and it wasn't commonly used.
