Dave, did you look at the photo I posted above? That's the thingamabob I was talking about. Mine looked great. I've got to get me lights fixed! I'm away from me truck now, so it'll have to wait a bit.

 

Yes, that's the connector that I was talking about.

 

Cheers mate! this fixed my issue. I took the connector off and the red wire with a white stripe was broken off the spade and just dangling there (the corrosion was bad enough that it ate through the spade).

While trying to pry out the spade it actually snapped in two. I was able to fish out the rest then cut back the wire, stripped, spliced to a new 10g wire and crimped that to a male spade connector (I had to crimp new wire on to it first then feed the wire through the top of the connector, out the bottom and splice to the old wire).
