Default How to paint a chrome bumper?

So my black bumper rusted through. I have a chrome bumper off my parts truck but I just don't know how to go about painting it. Thanks

sand it, prime it, sand it, prime it, sand it, prime it, sand it, paint it... The key is to rough it up enough for the primer to stick to the surface.

Or have it media blasted and powder coated (which is costlier, but more likely to last.)

The only problem with powder coating is if you get a chip in your bumper repairing it isn't as easy as if it was painted.

True, but by that way of thinking, chrome isn't as easy to repair as paint, either.

Powder coating is a lot more durable than paint. And it can be touched up with paint if it's damaged--just get a powder coating with a matching bottle of touch up paint.

Thanks for the advice about powder coating. It sounds like the best solution.

I think that's probably the easiest (and possibly least expensive) option.
