Engine Swap
Alright I have a 94' Dakota 3.9 liter , 2 wheel drive.......
Motor went bad...............
I have a 4.7 out of a '02 Durrango
Has anyone heard of any conversion kits?
Would this motor bolt up to my tranny?
Looking for motor mounts?
Headers?
Possibly a turbo?
Would my factory wiring harness plug into in computer?
Please Help
I'll soon have pic's of my Dakota.. Truck is up for winter time , many body modifications going on........................

RE: Engine Swap
I dont know personally if it will bolt up to the trans or not (probally not). But you can check the bolt patterns on the durango and on the dakota and see if they would line up perfect or not. Also the computer should be different considering the durangos computer has more to control. Useally you wouldnt be able to do that unless you had a a 02 durangos computer to plug it into. And motor mounts best thing to do about that is find a 02 durango without the engine in it (or i guess you could if it had one in it just alot more work) and cut the mounts off and weld them to the dakota. Given you best be a very good welder to do that and also might want to find a way to bolt and weld them in. But with it being that new of a engine im not sure that anyone makes them. You might try jegs and edelbrock.

RE: Engine Swap
Trannys are different, the 4.7 is an OBDII system and the way it reads data from the sensors id different. You would have to run a 4.7 computer and harness and YES it WILL be a wiring nightmare. The 4.7 is not really like the older motor styles in any way. Personally I would go with a 318 or 360. The 4.7 is a noghtmare to Chrysler anyway because they sludge up inside anyway. There track record is not very good. A 318 or 360 will bolt right up to what you have and you will have to add two injector wires.
