Default Blown Radiator, now check engine.

My radiator blew on my truck yesterday (93 3.9l 5 speed 4wd). I replaced it, the water pump and the thermostat too for good measure. When I fired it up it was surging and threw codes 22 and 62. I disconnected the battery to clear the codes and restarted it. It was still surging at idle and throwing code 22 (Coolant temp sensor output invalid?)
Thoughts on what it could be? What should my output voltage/resistance be on the temp sensor if I were to test it? It's the one wire connector on the front pass of the intake right?

Code 22 is either ETC sensor volts too high or too low. I do have PDF files for these codes. If you need then, send me a pm with you email.

i had the same thing happen when the rad blew in my old 93(minus the codes). i replaced both ects and the problem went away.

the ect sensor for the pcm probably went bad(since you have code 22) and that would cause the truck to go into limp mode which would explain the surging(which i found out when i installed a new engine wiring harness).

Ok, I bought the sensor, now I just can't see it! I know about the one wire sensor for the gauge, but where is the 2 wire sensor for the computer mounted? Under the a/c compressor? Does it and/or the bracket need to be removed?

It's behind the ac and more than likely. I don't remember how I did it but I believe I removed the bar and did it without removing the compressor. While you are changing it check the connector for corrosion.

Thanks, I pulled the compressor. It was easy to get to then. I realized two things though, one the store gave me the wrong part and two the connector unplugged itself. I suppose when I was wrestling the water next out of the tight spot its in, I probably hit into it, but couldn't even see it. Thanks guys. The lights out and it seems to be running better!
