I was in the process of charging the battery after a long winter. And as I was starting it I noticed that floats where not shutting off. So I took off the front bowl, fixed the float jam and proceeded to fire. And I got a little more than a start up. Luckily everything is insured and hopefully back together soon.

Yeah. Its a 4150 650 double pumper and I seemed to have it dialed in at 66 in front and 74 in rear. Running a Comp 270S Solid lifter cam

My sincerest condolences. But like the Phoenix it will arise from the ashes brand new. Yours looks similar to mine, Does yours still have the spark control computer? and if not how do you handle torque converter unlock? see my post on PTU solenoid.

Post photos when the phoenix arises.

It does look a lot worse than it is. thank god. its mostly smoke damage but most of it should just wash off.

And I use MSD ignition box, coil and Distributor with an 88' 727 torqueflite 2500stall.

Damaged items - Holley 650HP, 8.5mm wires, and some minor alternator wire damage and split loom melted. Haven't touched it since its still going through insurance ect.

Also in the process of building a center console anyone recommend wood or metal? I suppose wood would be easier. And I'm definitely putting in a fire extinguisher

if your good with gel/resin, or good with foam/upholstery then wood would turns out nicely, i had built one for my 2002 dakota, quad cab and lost the center seat up front, kept the original steel frame to utilize the arm rest/storage compartment.then housed a 8 inch shallow mount kicker sub and amp hidden away aswell as a headrest dvd player modded in for daughter in rear with own speakers..... anyway used 5/8's MDF and alot of PL Premium and resin over top, sanded prepped painted, look almost original do to utilizing exsisting arm rest..
Was gonna do something similar now to my 92 but making under rear seat box is more fun and can get 2 8 inchers! then il find a factory bucket/console somewere! i seen em before!

Check out the snowdigger website, its where I got my idea for a center console, I am about halfway done it, I used the same material as him, 1x1x1/8 aluminum and 1/4" pvc, it looks great and will be nice after paint. I built it a little wider then the original so that I could hide my amplifier under it
