Default Injector sizes?

I've searched this site and none of the articles come up. My 94 3.9L V6 I am told takes 21Lb injectors.
Searching for a deal I found an article from this site that mentioned Dodge had gone to 23Lb across the board for all Magnum's so they didn't have to have the 3 different Injectors for the 2.5L 3.9L and 5.2/5.9L.

My question is; Should I use the 21Lb the Hughes Engine guy told me mine takes or should I go with 23Lb?

Also where can I buy 6 new not reman injectors for the correct price per instead of having to buy 8 or pay $10 more per for 6? The Hughes guy only offered to know off $20 bucks for 6 making them $46 per! The price per for 8 amounts to $36.80 or so.

I got the OE Part Number for my rig 4554127AB but no one including the dealer can tell me what lb per hour that puts out at. It matters because OEM injectors got for over $130 at the dealer and I think that's not even new. If I knew what size they were I could buy an after market of the right size.
It's not so simple because in different places I get different size quotes for OE fit or recommendation.

Thans Crazy4X4RT. I found that link but it does not mention the 3.9L or the 94 and mine is an automatic.

according to OEM part # crossreferenced to a Bosch part Number it states @ Bosch Part # 21.8lbs/h 229.1cc or 164.8 grams at roughly 44psi fuel pressure

rock auto has standard motor products for like 25 bucks cnd..
or can get the Bosch ones from this guy: http://www.fuelinjector.citymaker.co...25/4735745.htm

which are reman for 25 bucks.. im sure bosch is better then Standards or purchased new for 39.99 for the bosch

or his ebay page: for set of 6 for 180 bucks US http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Fuel-Injector...-/290608269693

Thanks 92. That helps but here is my dilemma. The formula 175hp x .5 BCSF = 87.5
6 injectors x .80 duty cycle = 4.8
87.5 / 4.8 = 18.22 Lbs.

I have had atrocious gas mileage and I often described it as feeling like I was pouring gas on the ground when I was driving. That formula makes me think my Injectors are too big and that is why I want to know the exact Lbs/hr of the OEM injectors. I have had several places tell me the cross reference was X injector and the referenced injectors have varied form 21 to 23.8 lbs Hr. there are apparently 21.2 and 21.8 and 23.2 and 23.8. SO either I am talking to "sales people" or I am finding that many injectors will work and I need to find the optimum one for best MPG's. I figure the OE spec'd injector is probably the best one for that. Maybe I am making too big a deal over it??

I am going to do the Hughes Engines Intake manifold Plenum Kit and also a new timing chain with a tensioner added on per TSB 09-07-97
dodgeram.info/tsb/1997/09-07-97.htm
They are both indicated in poor MPG's and the response problems I have been complaining about on this forum. It is my plan once I take it apart to install the new plenum to inspect the existing injectors to see if they are OE or ??? then make a decision from there. I still need ot knwo what size the OE injectors were since the formula depending on what numbers I enter based on different specs I have seen for my truck on various sites have been as low as 13lbs! and usually at 16 or 18 Lb hr.
As far as I can tell so far it is near impossible to mod the engine enough to need larger than OE spec'd injectors unless one changed cam, heads and adds a supercharger. I won't be doing that.

You match your injector pound per hour for what ever year PCM you are running, PERIOD, unless you have a way to tweak the calibration in the PCM which for '94 would be no. If your year PCM calls for 21pph injectors then that's what you use otherwise you will run rich (if they are too big) or you will run lean (if they are too small).

If you have the original part number off your original injectors (you could always call the dealer to find out the P/N) this is a good chart to find out the size of your injector: http://users.erols.com/srweiss/tableifc.htm. It helped me figure out that '98 injectors are smaller than '94 injectors and that was my running condition problem when I did my 5.9 swap. Post #1 explains my injector dilemma: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...-360-swap.html.

Thanks AZ good info. Mine (dealer part number #4554127AB) was on his list but had no specs other than indicating it was high impedance.
I like your write up. I hope I don't have to find another motor.

Thanks but I've already done the Hughes Plenum and timing chain/tensioner TSB. It runs much better. The Injectors in there had the OEM Part number on them. I decided to leave them as I have a lot of other things to do and its running well enough I do not have to worry about it.
