no high beam
I was having problems with my 94 Dodge Dakota burning up light switches. A viewer gave me a link to a "Putco" light harness with relays in it. I purchased this and now I have good dependable lights, but no high beam. I have dims that work even when the column switch is switched either way, no brights at all,... but at least I have lights that work all the time now.. Whats up with that and how do I make it possible to make my brights work ?

Either the relay isn't hooked up right, it isn't wired right, or there's an upstream problem.
Check the voltage at the old headlight socket on both low beam and high beam, does it change?
If so, then time to double-check the wiring of the Putco harness to the truck.
Note: The 9004 and 9007 can use the same harness, but two wires MUST be swapped to transition between them - notice the wiring of the two sockets below.

I'm thinking now that this Putco wire harness is a conversion kit, to convert wiring from using a 9004 bulb, to a 9007 bulb, and if I'm thinking correctly, all I have to do is buy 2, 9007 bulbs and it should work correctly, right ? I was just trying to get my lights to work all the time, not to convert them, but if it works all the time with a 9007 bulb, I'll be happy ! Can I do this ?
