Default pics. of new wheels and tires

Well I changed out my factory wheels and tires. They were 235x75x15 on 6in wheels. I went to a 255x70x15 tire and a 8in wheel. The wheels I purchased used and refinished them. Still have to do the center caps. My old tires were 17 years old. I know, way too old to be running but I did. But what a difference these made!!

These were the old ones.

Here is a comparison of the old vs new

Nice! I like how the old wheels look but I like how the new ones look better. Those wheels look great on every truck in my opinion. Good choice.

Thanks for the compliments. I got these wheels from a guy who had them on a jeep. Not sure if they were factory or aftermarket. They are 2in. wider then the Dakota wheels, but measuring from the inside of the wheel, where it mounts to the rotor, it is 1in deeper. So by it being 1in deeper, it would also set out 1in further out. My point is, I think the tire should center up in its orig. position.

Cool, it also looks like they sit pretty even with the fender flares...maybe just a little outboard?

Do the tires sit outboard of the fender flares?

I'm looking for wider rims/tires. Around here anything hanging out will attract the attention of the gendarmes.

You wouldn't happen to know the offset of these rims?

Thanks

actually after looking back at some pictures, I have given a little mis-information here. So let me start over.
The wheels are 15x8 with a inside measurement of 5.25 from the hub.
The old wheels are 15x6 with a inside measurement of 4.75. so these are inboard .5 in and outboard 1.5 as compared to the orig. wheels.
So I guess the centerline of the tire would be about .75 in. further out.
Then add to that the tire tread is about 1in wider. So I guess the outer edge of the tire is 1.25 in. further out.
In this link I have some pictures of the wheels and how I measured them. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...questions.html

Ragtop, that is a clean looking Dakota; everything looks straight and new in those pictures. Nice work.

I think the new wheels work well on your truck. As for the tires, they are exactly what I like to run on a 4WD in my neck of the woods. Those big radials are perfect for running in soft sand, which is the primary form of off-road my vehicles ever see, and of course they're ideal road tires as well. Did I say they look great too?

Yes, up here I don't have sand, just asphalt. But I needed the bigger tires to harness the 125 horses under the hood!!

If you sell the stock rims and center caps on ebay, the caps alone should sell for close to $200 to the right buyer
