Good to hear if confusing I assume opposite means 180 out of alignment. Mine ran with a wire crossed and hardly gave a sign. The PCM can do wonders.

yes, 180 out is exactly the term my mech used! the only other thing we found was a threaded hole through the side of the throttle body carb which he says was some emission control gizmo that previous owner took out. we plugged the hole. if this truck never stalls out again then i'll assume we fixed it! Thanks for all the help..
