Another question would putting larger rims and tires on the truck possibly cause the problem?

Well did the problem start right after you put larger wheels and tires on it?

Usually larger tires don't effect much other than low-end power. But it really depends on what you're running. My '95 is auto/w a 360 and it's running 31x10.5x15. It did have 225/65R15s on it and I barely notice the difference. But say if you're running 33s or 35s on it w/o lower gearing, then yes there could be a significant difference in performance.

Sorry for the long break once agian. Good news though that kickdown linkage seems to have fixed the problem. Easy fix too thanks for all your help guys.
