There are really two good video series on YouTube for tearing down an 42/46rh transmission...I used them when I rebuilt mine and they were invaluable. Be aware you will need some specialized tools if you get into the overdrive section...most specifically a 10 ton press as there is an 800 lb spring under compression that you don't want to fool around with...it will take your head off.

Looking forward to getting into this.
Proper Diagnosis is critical to saving money. Just take one step at a time YT and some other site have good general diagnostic videos, This guy is very helpful for general automotive info. https://www.ericthecarguy.com/faq/so...ssion-problems

While you're looking and considering, take a look at http://www.allpar.com/mopar/performa...lite-mods.html ... it might not directly apply, but still, it's good general information. (Shucks, read all three in the series.)

You wouldnt happen to know or have a link to those videos?

Ive been watching some but some have bad quality so im second guessing them since it would be hard to follow doing a rebuild.

Also i will mention my dad was putting in dexron VI the last few times to my knowledge. Would that be a bad thing?

Dexron VI? Uhhhh - yah.

ATF+4 is the ONLY proper ATF for a Mopar transmission of this vintage.
