Default Was at the junkyard today...

I got the plastic trim from the kick plate (name?) all the way around to the two pillars and the under back window piece for my cab in a darker grey. I also got the jack cover that goes across the the whole back of the regular cab. I don't see screw holes on my cab but the holes in the carpet are there, so I may have to use what they did which is sheet metal self tapping screws. I am going to go with stainless as all the fasteners I removed showed lots of rust.
The point of this post besides half bragging is to say I saw two used fuel pumps that looked good and a 22gallon gas tank already removed and sitting in the bed which looked good too.
And the question I have is that the 93 truck I got the trim out of had the OE buckets and console but they were moldy and the inside of the top of the console was missing pieces of broken off plastic. the container in the front of the console was real moldy. Is this fixable? How expensive is all new foam and covering? Sorry no pics.

I got a console from a junker too but I've yet to find the top for one...they seem to be rare.

I was just thinking about removing that jack cover and the rocker panel covers and the screws went right through the respective spots making a hole all the way through the cabin. In each screw hole there was some goop that was hardened but still soft and pliable. I expect that was to waterproof the hole and screws as they weren't rusty on the part that stuck out. Does anyone know what that stuff is and where to get it? I'd like to have it before I install that jack cover since it looks like my model never had it and I'd like to use it when I put the new rocker panel covers in.

I know exactly what you're talking about, I'm not sure what that stuff is but maybe some non hardening seam sealer will work as a substitute? Not sure.

Silicon hardens and would be a pain if I need to remove the parts in future to change carpet or something.

I definitely agree with this. Sillicon is a huge pain to take up once you've put it down. Thinking about removing it gives me nightmares. You could try putting the screws back in then spraying undercoating from the other side.
