The tranny you purchased, is it for a Dakota? If so, you'll need a Dakota NV3500 shift tower. Not the easiest to find, I know, and even worse trying to find the little rubber boot/seal on top that seals around the shift mechanism. Mine was torn and the only way I could get a replacement was to replace with a new tower. I managed to fix the tear by carefully cleaning and abrading the old boot and patching both sides with silicone gasket maker. No leaks as of yet, and it's been running for about a year now

If any additional pictures would help, let me know. BTW the shifter is on backwards.
That's a familiar site there 93RT. At least your tower boot looks OK.

Yes the one I ordered is for a Dakota. I can find aftermarket Hurst towers for the Dakotas but i don't wanna pay 300 for one right now and it's crazy that I can't seem to find a stock one for the Dakota.

What about the shifter assembly for a Dakota nv3500 that Midwest transmission has on there parts breakdown? It looks like it includes the entire tower but I wouldn't wanna order it on a hunch?

Just found this new listing on eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/DODGE-1500-D...pXtlN1&vxp=mtr

I'm pretty sure this is the one you're looking for.

That looks like the right one and for a good price I'll get it ordered.

Yeah, $35 + shipping looks like a pretty good deal, and those don't pop up too often. Keep us posted on your project!

Glad you found it!! I was looking on ebay at a hurst dakota shifter. They were very clear it was for a NV3500 and would not work on a AX15. As usual, ragged 89 was right, again!!

I would love to have the Hurst shifter but I need that extra cash to get some more stuff for this swap. The plan is to have the new motor in and tranny and transfer case fully overhauled and shined up and everything finished by the end of December
