The first gen. dakotas, are the red headed step child of the aftermarket industry.
I dont know of anyone that has a catalog dedicated to these trucks. Very little aftermarket support. Usually end up using sites such as rockauto.com, ebay, and of course google.

Thats what I was afraid of. Next question . Will any 2nd generation parts fit the 1st
gen. ? Im going to re do the interior and I need carpet, seats/covers, door panels etc.. My headliner is red. My truck is blue/silver. Is this normal? Need headlights very badly. They are not able to be seen through now.
Thanks for the info. I will keep looking.

I doubt much from a 2nd gen is going to be a direct fit to a first gen. that is concerning the interior.
But a quick search on rockauto shows headlamps, carpet and door panels.
Seats, finding orig. style upholstery, I have never found. If that is what you are talking about..... Universal type seat covers are probably available. For headliner, most just pick a headliner material, pull the headliner out and re-glue a new one in place. Personally I ordered the material off of ebay, but have yet to install it.

Well they came with an option for buckets, so that would be the easiest swap.
Also, stuff like headlights and many other parts are out there, just need to search the internet. Just because it's not in a catalog doesn't mean it isn't there. I have new headlights in my 93, google it. They come up. These trucks are not AS supported by aftermarket as second gens, but you can still get by usually. What you can't get new, go to a junkyard for.

The headliner is actually fairly easy if you want to do it. The card it is on is delicate so be careful with the corners. The cloth on mine dropped so I removed it and Joanne Fabrics has headliner materiel. There are videos on YT.
The interior parts I changed the plastic trim all the way around with the plastic from a 95 into my 94. It fit fine. I had to modify the top of the piece that goes from the dash over the shoulder to the column behind the seat., It has a tail piece on it that got in the way. I also replaced the Dash bezel and cup holder bezel with one from a different year I do not recall.
You can find pre-cut fitted carpet for this truck. and seats are going to be a pain going on 3 years and the closest I came was the exposed to the weather set in the truck I took that interior from. The center console had the top broken. The local guys want $500 to reupholster seats so I took a pass on it. Same guy told me the brand which I forget for the carpet maker and quoted me a price $219 which was about $100 more than it sells for online. The manufacturer steered me to a re-seller. I think you have to cut the holes for bolts etc yourself. Search B&R auto recycling it was in one of their yards I saw the seats in a red 95. I think you can get the carpet for less than $150.

I read in another Dakota forum that anything from 88-98 will fit . As long as the cabs are the same. Also a 3rd Gen Viper seat is a bolt in . (out of my league). But all In all it looks like it will be a scavenger hunt at best . Guess I need to get started sooner than I had hoped to. Thanks to everyone for your help. It is much appreciated.
Side note: I guess anything will fit anything with modifications.
