Post Wheel Hop

We had some rain here on the weekend and I was playing around on some gravel roads. I found out my truck has bad wheel hop or axle wrap in 1st gear. I'll add it's a 5spd and I was in 2wd and it also has a LSD. Now on dry roads where you'd think it would do that, it actually will chirp the tires. It also hops on wet pavement if i try to take off too quickly. Any ideas on solutions?

What would I be looking for when I check the leaf springs and shocks?

Does the rear appear to set even? I would look for a cracked or broken leaf when checking the springs. Look at the bushings.

Personally I would be more suspect to the shocks. If you jum[ on the rear bumper of the truck, does it immediately stop bouncing as soon as you stop, or does it recoil some afterwards? If it does, the shocks are bad.
Do the shocks have any oil leakage? If so, they are bad.

If this was my truck, after doing the above, and if I found no problem, I would still replace the shocks with something like KYB's . They are not that expensive, easy to install, and IMO most likely the cause.

If you are still having the problem, I would pull the springs, take them apart to verify you did not miss a cracked spring, and replace the bushings. And again, if it was my truck I would put poly bushings in at that time.

Hopefully, you get it figured out.
