Default NP231 Transfer case questions

I have an important question about my transfer case, there's a crack in the rear cover and it leaks like a open water hose, I have found several n Ebay used starting at $50 , but they are for Jeeps, my question is will a Jeep rear cover fit on my transfer case or do I need one specific to a 1993 NP 231?
( please tell me they are universal as far as the case goes :P )

Did you look at the link I sent you in your other post? https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...f-cracked.html
On a 93, you could have 2 different transfer cases.
I am going to go out on a limb and say if its a newer jeep then no.

Look here. http://www.factorychryslerparts.com/

If you need just the cover, it may be best to just buy new. But FWIW look hard at the chain.

oh yea, I ve worked on cars, farm equipment, navy aircraft, and lawn mowers since I was 5 years old trust me sir, just to replace a rear cover the transfer case is coming off, and apart for a complete inspection, and cleaning or all internal bearings, "U" joints retaining bolts, threads and everything 24 inches around the area I'm inspecting. And no that is NOT what the navy taught me ,its what My Grandfather taught me, everything I am able to do I owe to an old German man hat was a engine man on a Uboat in WWII sinking British and American ships in the Atlantic. I DO NOT, HAVE NOT, and WILL NOT ever skimp on a repair I do! if I did yall your see a skeleton walking down NC 258 with a belt in his hand looking for me

I called Southern/Chrysler/Dodge in Chesapeake Va, when I lived up there in Va Beach I dealt with them a lot,
the parts dept asked for the vin ( last 8) and the guy told me its a NPG231, bolted to the back of a 4 speed automatic, he also said it IS a 3.9 magnum
So basically I traded a stock 3 speed auto open diff city only jeep for a monster
