That's what is do. Slush boxes are power and mpg rubbers on these trucks. And in fact, I'm getting ready to do just that myself. Luckily, its almost a direct swap. Just add the things a 5 speed needs and cut a hole, and yoire done basically. There's a nice write up on these very forums on a how too.

Besides that, slush boxes are boring to drive lol.

ok just took here about 10 miles to warm her up before I stuck the Vac gage on, installed the vac gage at the and found the following spare nipple on the brake vac booster upon opening and closing quickly I read that the rings are slightly work ( 160k I wonder why) BUT at idle I get 14 inches, which means retarded spark, now the needle doesn't fluctuate at all on fast open of slow open there's no needle bounce at all, could that be a cause of the trans not staying in gear, I also noticed that in OD it WILL start slowing down drove it with AC off and windows down on inclines however slight it goes back into 3rd faster than on flat level road

( glad I listened to my gut and did a vac test before listening to the guy at work and ripping the intake off for a plenum gasket)

Might, still checking every inch of every line,
Got 3 or 4 things I'm doing on it at the same time thinking from Chevy experience that they might be interconnected

How old is your brake booster...they're prone to leaking and being a source for large loss of vac...losing 6 pounds of vac isn't a small hose leaking. Try plugging the vac line to the booster and then check the vac.

Oh really?
the brake booster looks stock to me, complete with the rust trail frem a bad brake master cyl that was replaced, but I'll defenetly check that out, oh and take a wild guess where I plugged the vac gage in at. that's right the spare nipple on the brake booster

Anytime a master cylinder leaks and you get the trail of death on the booster, you can almost bet the brake fluid ate the booster seals. I just replaced two due to this.
