According to the link you posted it's supposed to fit. ??? The early hemi's had a LONG extension on the back of the block(depending on motor).
In my opinion the 392/354 is the only early hemi worth the trouble. Short like modern motors and more aftermarket support.
I'm not talking about the Chrysler hemis, I'm talking about the Dodge hemis.

They're shorter, and a completely different motor than the Chrysler (or even the Plymouth!) hemis of the 50's.
Yes, the Chrysler hemis would be too long.
The Dodge ones, OTOH, were short; shorter than almost any other V8 engine! And the cam is about 2" longer than the 3.9 V6 cam; so the block should also be shorter.
Shucks, the bore centers are less than a 360/5.9 bore DIAMETER; and that includes the water jacket et al!
