Default Help! SYE Kit

I have a 1994 dodge Dakota 5.2 liter v8 4x4... All I want to know is if I can put a sye on it... I don't hardly see y I couldn't but then again I am only 18 and still learning... the only difference I have found between the 231j and the 231d is the chain in the 231d is bigger I believe but I don't see y tht would b a problem when with a sye kit u are just replacing the output shaft not the sprocket... so am I wrong in think if I buy a sye kit from rough country tht is yes made mainly for jeep tht it would still work with mine or am I just stupid...

heh.. if you can lift it high enough that it needs one... congrats... so unless your going with a solid front axle and going to the moon... even then *Crazy* here I don't believe did it either with his solid axle swap up front..

your just not going to get enough from stock front IFS suspension to even think of needing one for the rear..

rear shaft on jeeps need it , rear driveshaft is like 20 inches long in the rear(estimate) I know I replaced both mine with a SYE twice a sye then a SS SYE cause I wanted more lift haha then adjustable control arms to re angle pinion and so on..

the Dakota is well a lot longer shaft then a jeep.... lol the front half shaft on the front difff is probably longer then the jeep tj rear driveshaft anyway ..lol

So far as I know, the only difference between the J, and D, is the mount clocking. The 231 HD had a wider chain....... if output shaft spline counts/diameter is the same, it *should* work.

Is this the kit you are talking about? http://www.advanceadapters.com/produ...7906--50-7907/ If so, I would contact them and ask if it will work on a dodge 231 case. I know within the first gen. dakotas, there are at least 4 versions of the 231.
My gut feeling is that it wont work, since they only list it for jeeps. But again, I would contact advance adapters and ask.
