Default Engine swap

I have a 96 Dakota 4x4 V8 magnum. How hard would it be to switch out the 318 for a 360? Does everything bolt up.

Drop right in, bolt right up. Need a PCM for the bigger motor though, otherwise, it will run a bit lean.

Harmonic balancer up front and flexplate/torque converter or flywheel will need to match the new engine.

Everything else is plug and play except that for best performance, you need to get the ECU tuned to cover the increased displacement.

Good news is that on a 1996, it's OBDII, and Flyin'Ryan and others sell tunes for it (disclaimer: I haven't used a FRP tune, but I mostly hear how good they are. Caveat emptor.)
