Probably didn't hurt anything.

PCM has a multitude of failure modes, few of which will actually set a code. One circuit can fail, but, so far as the PCM is concerned, everything is still hunky-dory. Try a different PCM, see if anything changes.

Thanks, I'll call around to some junkyards and try to find one.

Well, no junkyards around me have a Dakota older than 94. Anybody have a PCM they'd like to donate to the cause? Lol

I don't understand what the problem being described is. You say "there is power at the coil but no spark" To me that means you've got the starter turning it over but no spark is getting to each plug? How did you test for power at the coil? Did you test each plug wire/plug to see if there was spark at the end?

No spark out of the coil at all. Test light on the terminal on the coil to negative battery shows power when cranking. Coil tests good, right on the factory specs for primary and secondary resistance.

If it is not coming out of the coil wouldn't that mean the coil is bad? Possibly the coil wire is bad?

Coil wire is good, tested with a multimeter. I wonder about the coil but I can't afford to throw parts at it. I might have another coil to try but I'm not 100% sure it would even work. Might try it anyway though.

So, stick the probe end of your test light into the ground side of the coil connector, the other lead to the POSITIVE battery terminal, and crank the engine. Does the test light flash? (it should......)
