It does not flash. So that means that the coil isn't getting the signal to fire; correct?

Wrong coil, pre-magnum is a canister. From what I'm seeing though it looks like the coil is not getting the signal it needs to fire. Coil tests good.

Try a different PCM. It begins to look like that is the problem. PCM simply isn't telling the coil to fire.

Although, if the lite doesn't come on at all, might be a bad wire to the PCM. PCM BREAKS the circuit to fire the coil.

The light comes on, just doesn't pulse. I'm in the process of locating a PCM, no junkyard in my county has a Dakota older than '94. And a new one is way out of the budget at the moment. Might try replacing the wire from the PCM to the coil just in case.

Wouldn't hurt to trace it, if it is grounded out somewhere before the PCM, the coil will only fire when you turn the ignition off.

Unplug the coil, unplug the connector at the PCM, check continuity to ground on the wire. If it's open, (infinite resistance) the wire is good.

I will try that tomorrow. The harness is already open from hunting down potential damaged wires. Wire looks okay on the outside but you never know. I can only hope it's something that simple.

If you're checking the supply voltage to the coil, it shouldn't flash...it's a solid 12V

But the negative side should flash, that's the coil's signal to fire if I'm not mistaken.
