Default Opinions on Best Brand of Fuel Pump

The level sending unit has failed and I am going to replace the pump assembly on my 92 LE with the 5.2 V8. I was wondering what kind of luck everyone was having with these 3 brands of pump....Delphi, Denso or Bosch. I can get any of the three for around the same price so I am most interested in reliability.Looking for brand specific problems...not vehicle specific things. Thanks

I don't feel any of the three would be a bad one, personally.

I've got a Delphi in my 1988; I have a Bosch sitting handy because I THOUGHT the Delphi was dying (turns out it was the fusible link to the ASD instead!)

Delphi and Denso are both OEM manufacturers..... I would stick with them.

I'm pretty sure Bosch is also an oem manufacturer.

Some of the bosch stuff, these trucks simply don't like..... An O2 sensor is a breeze to change, compared to a fuel pump. So, I try and avoid bosch.

can only give my opinion but i dont think you can ever go wrong with denso parts. recently changed the pump in my 96 3.9 with denso . old pump didnt fail but had the annoying fluttering needle and with 157k ,i figured it was time for new one. while i cant be sure it was factory original, im pretty sure it was but only identifying marks i seen were chrysler emblem. could of been denso brand since dodge was using denso parts in those years. alternator is denso , probly original i suspect , and still going strong at 159k. toyota did (and probly still does) use alot of denso parts and toyotas seem highly reliable. if it were my money i would go denso

For only about $50 to $70 more you could grab a Denso or Delphi complete assembly, save the roll over (and maybe including that!), and swap it out a lot quicker.

And have a new pump instead of one that may work another 30 years, may die as you're putting it all back together.

denso assembly runs $165 but it doesnt have rollover valve. cut the old one out of the other pump with a dremel, being careful not to damage the rubber gromet because that has to be reused aswell. prying it out with a screwdriver will likely break it. if you have no history of the old pump i would just drop in a new assembly
