Default How do I remove this water pulley? 92 v6

The wrench kit from O'Reilly's does nothing to stop the water pump pulley from spinning. Looking at the engine, I'm supposed to rotate the nut to the left correct?

I tried prying the pulley bit when I counter with the wrench, it just starts to spin again.

Rent Part number 67065, its the pulley holder, u need to put 2 bolts of your own through the tool then those bolts go into the holes on your water pump pulley. Then you use the wrench set that u rented. You can do that or buy Lisle prt number 34580 @ 30 bucks to hold down the pulley. You also have the option of buying a set that comes with both the hold down wrench and the loosening wrench @ 80 bucks, thats Lisle part number 43600. Type those part numbers into their website to look at pics. Turn the nut to the left and pulley to the right to loosen.

I left the serpentine belt in place, put a big crescent wrench on the nut, and whacked the end of the wrench a couple times to get it to break loose. After that, it threaded off by hand.

Are you trying to separate the fan clutch from the pump? I took the whole pump off and took it to a shop. They tried various methods (wrench, breaker bar, air hammer, etc) but gave it back to me and told me to buy new parts - that nut was rusted on to hell. I ended up taking their advice. I don't remember the parts being terribly expensive.
