Default Tuneup - What'd I do Wrong?

(1995 V6/automatic)
Finally got around to changing plugs & wires,
distributor cap & rotor,& changed the oil.
When I started it up,after replacing parts,it runs fine, then stumbles,
runs fine, then stumbles,etc..... Also get a stumble around 1250 RPM.
The muffler will also need to be replaced,as it leaks a little (age).
I checked all the connections on the cap & at the spark plugs.Any ideas
on what I might have done wrong?
Thanks in advance ( in case I forget).

Swapped plug order?

Did you see the TSB on spark wire routing? http://dodgeram.info/tsb/1998/18-48-98/18-48-98-v8.htm

Had two wires switched,& engine wouldn't start.
Corrected that,started,but rough idle,& missing.
Rerouted coil cable,& runs really bad. It's got to
be something simple.
How about removing the metal "tubes" around
the spark plugs - bad idea?

Those tubes are meant to be heat shields for the wire.I don't have them on mine, if I did I would probably leave them since the rerouting of the wires TSB to get them away from the heat made a noticeable difference.
I would start looking for connections you were not even working on that you may have knocked loose.

The TSB for rerouting the wires wasn't about heat, it was about cross-talk on the wires. The heat shields can be removed without consequence.
