Wish you were closer; I could use the whole thing.

Do you know if it's a SureGrip or a Dana TracLok?

Hey Ralph,

Below is a picture of the posi unit out of my 87- 8.25 rear.

I believe it is called Sure-Grip by chrysler. Anyways, it is a cone style, and cannot be rebuilt. (according to the FSM)
I have heard of taking it apart, and grinding the face of the cone down a little, so it will go deeper into the carrier....
Personally I would not do it, especially where you will have to be doing the setup again on your rear if used....
At any rate, if you want it, its free, just pay shipping from 20110
Below is a picture.

Hrm ...

I think I'll stick with a TracLok.

But I'm about to create a thread with shipping weights for my 2WD used KYBs, my 4WD new KYBs, and maybe a few other items for "Pay it forward - here's shipping, just cover that."

Somebody can surely use it; but if I go to that much, I'd rather have a TracLoc

Ralph, I agree, the dana trac -lok is a much better posi unit then the Sure-grip junk that dodge used....

I still have the complete rear. Been setting for over a year now. If anyone wants any parts from it, they are free.
Just pick up local in Northern Va, or pay shipping....
Just so you know,
Axles, as far as I know are ok
Sure-grip is wore out
ring and pinion seemed ok
I believe there is a bad wheel bearing
10in brakes, but backing plates are rusted out.
Housing ok
Mileage was about 80,000

Any questions or pictures wanted, just contact me.

If no response, I will probably dispose of the rear end next week.
