Question Dakota Convt.

Dakota convt
Finally found the Dakota been looking for: 1989 convertible! Came with new top - uninstalled. Anyone out there done a top installation? Is it a possible DIY project or best left to a pro? Any suggestions really appreciated.

Do a search for members ragged89 and robertmee . They both have verts that they restored. I have a 93 corvette convertible and have had the top replaced twice. Both times I took it to a shop. I dont believe they are that hard, but there is a technique to it. In other words, I feel sure the second or third one you do will be better. Good luck and show us pictures.

Thanks - I'll try to find them. I've got the factory top manual, so may have a go at it

To help get you started, here is a link. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...le-dakota.html

And here is another. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...gine-swap.html

Both guys are really helpful, but are not on here as much as they used to be. If you have any specific questions, sent them a PM.

BTW welcome to the forum and hopefully you will keep us updated on your project.

Awesome, looking forward to your build. Was this truck out of PA? I saw one for sale with a new top but ended up passing in favor of waiting for a 4x4
