Question 2ND Gen Durango NV244 Transfer Cases Compatible with 1ST Gen Durangos?

Hi all, Wondering if the 2002-2004 Durango NV244 transfer cases were compatible with the 01-03 Durangos? Will they be plug and play?

I have NO idea.

Might want to try the 1st or 2nd Gen Durango forums, not the older-than-dirt 1st Gen Dakota forum, which all date from before the Durango.

For openers, all first gen dakota's are not the same...... Some have the speedo drive in the transfer case, some do not...... Also, I think the 244 is electric shift? Dont think any of the first gen. dakota's are electric.
In short, it will not be a plug and play.

You are correct. I was thinking a 2nd gen durango on a 1st gen dakota. My mistake.
