I am REAL curious how that would work on an OBDI computer, that according to theory, ISN'T flash programmable.......

Well, the 1996 is a JTEC, so ...

Yeah, but 96 should also be OBDII, a system that was designed to be flash programmable....

I know next to nothing about tuning.... For some of you smarter ones on here, I thought it may be interesting....

Yep.

But, the programmer (person) needs to know the proper way to tickle the ECU.

Someone who's great on a Ford EEC-V (Intel 806x based IIRC) might be totally lost on a Chrysler ECU (Motorola based, again IIRC for the JTEC. My SMEC and the SBECs are Moto based.)

And they also have to know where the tables ARE in the ECU's memory to twiddle them.

Otherwise, it's like doing a tonsilectomy via the rectum ...
