Default An Intro and background of my Daks

This may be a bit long winded but here it is:

I’m a 37 year old gear head, cars and trucks are my hobby! My 3 and 5 year old boys are right into the vehicles too!

The start of the Dak obsession happened when I was 14 years old and my father bought a 40,000 mile 1987 v6 Dakota. Between myself and my siblings that poor truck got used and abused for 10 years! Always reliable!

next I bought a reg cab 91 Dakota 4x4 with a v6 and 5 speed. I swapped in a magnum 5.2, body lift, cranked the keys 31s and beat the snot out of it..

next was a 94 crew cab 4x4, 5.2, 5 speed, etc

then for years I moved onto gm trucks, buick cars, and other fun stuff. Till a few weeks ago I ran into a nice little 1989 short box sport! TBI v6, auto, 3.90 gears.

i currently have 8 vehicles so this Dak will be another fun project that I can work on while I drive it.

I buy and sell vehicles so I listed the Dak for sale right away just to see if I got any bites... funny enough a guy calls me and has a 91 Dak short box 2wd with a magnum 5.2 supercharger and 5 speed! He’s looking to trade it for mine so we might do that... pics!

Default 91 dak with v8 swap

I found two pics of the 91 Dak that I used to wheel the crap out of! Lots of good times!

Aw man, you had a V8 5 speed 4x4? Those are stupid hard to find, I've been looking nationwide forever and have seen two so far.

Sweet pics, hope to see more builds here! Supercharged 5spd 2wd sounds like a donut machine!

That camper top you have on the blue 4x4 in the snow - that looks like the one on my truck.

I would guess they don't use salt on the roads in Alberta since that truck is so clean.
Nice setup That sedan looked like the 68 Riviera I had in the 80's for a sec.
