Does anyone recognize what I am referring too? It is supposed to be a part right there when you change the filter.
Beats me. It would be interesting to know.

BTW, here is that 3-4 accumulator spring I was referring to in an earlier post. Begins at 6:06 if you want to jump right to it. Truthfully, I have no idea what the damn thing does.

Hmmm, I have the 46RH (A518) tranny. Don't think that is for my model. Does this take the place of the 3-4 accumulator spring?

It's there to moderate the hydraulic pressure for 3-4 and 4-3 shifts.

I think it is what the accumulator spring is holding in place. Your tranny has one. I'm sure that Cascade place will tell you exactly which one you need.
They have one for the 46 rh https://www.cascadetransmissionparts...pistonkit.aspx I notice it specifies 2-3 not 3-4 so maybe its a different part than the accumulator.

Hmmm. When I go to change the tranny oil/filter maybe I'll take a closer look and replace it all on the next round. Glad you researched it. Got it bookmarked! Thank you!

Looked at a vid. You would be correct. Not certain how easily that piston comes out. Seeing it has all those seals on it I suspect it will put up at least a little fight...unless the seals are wore down.

Wondering if this falls in the "If it aint broke don't fix it" category.

Based on what I remember the OE one is plastic and pretty loose which is the problem and the reason for the after market metallic ones. I have never had mine open so I wouldn't know, but since gravity would help and I just recalled the guy I was reading said his fell out the seal was so bad and its decades old??? You'd probably get the best info from that Cascade place you found in vid. It was just a fluke I found them searching that part. I am pretty sure other brands make the same part.
