In 1951 (!!!) Chrysler was working on the design of a 235ci V6 Hemi.

Erm, he talks about a dual overhead cam engine, but, the drawings most certainly are not. Cam shows just above the crank...... and there are no cams in the head...... Color me confused.

I noticed that too.

However, some early docs called the early V8 hemi's "dual overhead cam" due to using two different planes for the valves; and to distinguish from the L and F head motors which were valve-in-block.

So I think that's what they meant there - cam action was over the head and not in the block.

Or it could be an olde phart with bad memory.

I did also notice that was a 60* v6; so no split crankshaft on it.
